Transport and Planning.
The applications for high level photography in the transport arena are both wide and varied. Not only can elevated photos be used for traffic surveys, providing invaluable information about road traffic collisions and for evaluating insurance claims, but they can also provide useful information for bus transport managers in planning routes and delivering driver training.
High level traffic surveys and accident photography.
Road Traffic Accidents.
Elevated photography is increasingly used to record the nature and location of material evidence at the site of road traffic collisions, together with essential pieces of information such as road layout and markings. We work closely with the police and insurance companies, to record accurately the accident scene using detailed images at different heights and angles to record material evidence to support written evidence in court. Once photographs have been taken, roads can re-open.
Traffic and Road Surveys.
The images created by Elevated Aerial Photography can be used to assist road planners in the re-design of road layout, as well as determining traffic flows and accident blackspots. Monitoring can take place over a variety of timeframes - from minutes to hours, or even days - and the images can then be placed onto CD to enable easy viewing.
Insurance Claims.
Elevated photos of accident sites can be used to convey detailed information about the scene through a bird's eye view from an array of unique angles. Together with witness statements such photographs can help to provide an overall picture to support the validity of many motor insurance claims. Provision of a photographic record of the scene can provide a critical negotiation tool to enable early settlement and can even be carried out weeks or months after the event to highlight road layout and expose vital details that may not be seen at ground level.
Other applications for elevated photography within the field of transport are:
- Highway liability issues
- Road safety campaigns
- Route risk assessment
- Traffic accident reconstruction
- Road safety posters
- Driver training manuals
